NFL Draft Begins Tonight at 7pm

Tonight, at 7pm CT, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will take the stage in Detroit, to a parade of boos, to announce that the Chicago Bears are drafting USC QB Caleb Williams 1st overall.

After that?

Chaos ensues…

The 2024 NFL Draft is loaded with intrigue and uncertainty, with almost nothing guaranteed, even hours before the picks are made. The Titans currently hold the 7th overall pick, a highly-coveted spot that has drawn interest from other teams. On Tuesday, Titans GM Ran Carthon told the media that the Titans had received calls about the pick, but had made no decisions yet.

The truth of the matter is that despite only 6 picks before them, there is tons that could go down, that would affect that #7 pick for Tennessee.

QBs are likely to go with picks 1-3. Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. is likely to go #4. The Chargers pick at #5, needing tons of help all over the board. The same goes for the Giants at #6. Both teams are likely candidates to snag one of the top WRs off of the board, a position that the Titans could use help at. Both teams also could use help on the offensive line though, a spot that every Titans fan knows is an issue.

If the Titans’ top OL and WR targets are gone, they could look to trade back, or possibly draft another player at #7. It truly depends on what happens in those first 6 picks.

And as GMs always say, the value of the pick is at its height, once the team goes on the clock. Meaning that we most likely won’t know the fate of the Titans 7th overall pick, until there are just a few minutes to go.

It’s what makes the NFL Draft so fun and unpredictable…it’s almost time to Titan Up!

Preds Even the Series with Vancouver

After falling 4-2 to the Canucks in game 1, the Predators seized a golden opportunity on Tuesday night, crushing Vancouver 4-1. Hours before game 2, it was announced that the Canucks’ goalie Thatcher Demko would be out for at least game 2.

Thankfully, the Preds jumped on that opportunity, jumping out to a 1-0 lead just 1:14 into the game, behind a goal from Anthony Beauvillier.

Nashville rode that 1-0 lead into the intermission, before banging home two quick goals in the 2nd period, extending their lead to 3-0. Vancouver scored a few minutes later to make it 3-1, but the Predators had a firm grip on the game by then.

An empty netter with 1:53 remaining in the game made it 4-1, and just like that, the series was tied 1-1.

Now, the Predators have a chance to take a 2-1 series lead on Friday night in Bridgestone Arena. Winning both games at home, would guarantee the Preds one more game in Nashville in this series, giving them a huge upper hand.

Let’s Go Preds!

The NHL regular season is officially over, which means it’s time for playoff hockey in Smashville! After all the dust settled over the last two nights, the Predators finally got their postseason matchup.

They will face off with the #2 seed Vancouver Canucks, in a series where the Preds will possibly travel 2,500 miles to Vancouver, 4 times!

If you were in a new Ford F-150 from Two Rivers Ford, that trip would take you about 38 hours.

Just something to think about…

The NHL has not released the schedule for the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, however, the Predators should most likely begin the playoffs in Vancouver on either April 21st or 22nd, this coming Sunday or Monday night.

The Canucks beat the Predators all 3 times they faced off this season, giving Filip Forsberg and the young Nashville team a tough matchup. However, if you remember your Preds history, you’d remember a certain Predators team in 2017, that went to the Stanley Cup.

That team was an 8-seed Wild Card team, that blew the doors off of the #1 seed Chicago Blackhawks in the first round, sweeping them, en route to the team’s first Stanley Cup appearance.

While we wait to hear from the NHL about the start date for Game 1, just enjoy this hype video, courtesy of the Preds!

Gnash Loves Two Rivers Ford

As I mentioned, Vancouver is only 2,500 miles and 1.5 days away from Nashville. If you felt so inclined, you could get there in your Two Rivers Ford vehicle.

As far as the Preds’ mascot Gnash, we don’t know his travel plans, but we do know that if he wants to make that trip, or any trip around town, he’s got the perfect van to do it in, courtesy of Two Rivers Ford!

Big Day at Two Rivers Ford!

On Monday, Two Rivers Ford was the place to be!

Our friends at 104.5 The Zone made a special appearance, broadcasting The Buck Reising Show live from the dealership. We always love seeing our friends from The Zone, and it was a blast watching them do their thing!

While that was going on, we were busy cutting the ribbon outside of the newly renovated Commercial Vehicle Center, with the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce!

Then, shortly afterwards, the eclipse happened!

It was a packed day, full of excitement and friendly faces! A huge thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated the ribbon cutting with us, and to those who stuck around for the eclipse!

It’s always a great day at Two Rivers Ford!

Let’s Go Fishing on Saturday!

This Saturday, at Old Hickory Lake, Two Rivers Ford is proud to present the 15th annual Open Bass Tournament with the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce!

The entry fee is $70 per boat (2 people), the tournament will kick off at 6am sharp, and the winner gets a $1,000 prize!

Registration information is on the flyer above!

The forecast for Saturday is great, with sunny blue skies and a high of 77 degrees. A PERFECT day to hit the water and hook some big bass!

We hope to see you there!!

Preds are Headed Back to the Playoffs!

On Tuesday night, the Nashville Predators clinched a playoff spot, after missing the postseason in 2022-23 for the first time since 2013-14.

The Preds have cooled off a bit lately, after going on an incredible streak in February and March, winning 16 of 18 games. They scored points in every game during that streak, from Feb. 17th-Mar. 26th.

That hot streak shot them up the Western Conference standings, thrusting them into a playoff spot once again.

They currently trail the Edmonton Oilers by 6 points, making it very likely that they will end up in the Wild Card spot.

They have 3 games remaining, traveling to Chicago on Friday night, hosting Columbus on Saturday, then closing out the year on Monday night in Pittsburgh.

The playoffs are coming up fast, and the Preds are in! LET’S GO PREDS!

Vols Ready to Take on Creighton in the Sweet 16

Tonight, at 9:09pm, the #2 seed Tennessee Vols take on the #3 seed Creighton Bluejays in the Sweet 16! The Vols opened the NCAA Tournament by thumping the #15 seed, St. Peter’s, by 34 points. In the Round of 32, they won a hard-fought, close game with the Texas Longhorns, by a score of 62-58. That victory was especially sweet for the Vols, as head coach Rick Barnes was the Longhorn’s head coach for 17 years prior to coming to Rocky Top.

Now, a date with the Bluejays in Detroit, stands between the Vols and their first Elite 8 appearance since 2010. The winner of tonight’s game will get the winner of #1 seed Purdue or #5 seed Gonzaga.

Many say this is Barnes’ best Tennessee team. So far, the veteran leadership of guys like Dalton Knecht and Zakai Zeigler has proved to be a big boost.

But they’ve got their work cut out for them.

Vegas like the Vols though, currently having them as a 2.5-point favorite.

Vols Tip Off March Madness vs. 2022 Cinderella Team

Thursday night, the UT Vols open up their March Madness play, with a matchup vs. St. Peter’s in Charlotte, NC, a team that had a cinderella run to the Elite Eight in 2022.

The Vols had an early departure from the SEC Tournament, losing to Mississippi State by 17 in their first game. Despite that, many are high on the Vols heading into the NCAA Tournament, with All-American Dalton Knecht leading a Vols team that cruised virtually all year long. The veteran leadership on the Vols’ roster has many thinking that this could finally be the year that Rick Barnes’ team gets over the hump and wins it all.

Tennessee forward Colin Coyne (35), Tennessee guard Josiah-Jordan James (30) , Tennessee guard Santiago Vescovi (25), and Tennessee guard Dalton Knecht (3) before an NCAA college basketball game between Tennessee and Kentucky in Knoxville, Tenn., Saturday, March 9, 2024.

UT finished the year 24-8, while the St. Peter’s Peacocks enter March with a 19-13 record. Had St. Peter’s not won their conference tournament, they surely wouldn’t have made it to the big dance.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Vols are a 21.5 point favorite as the #2 seed, with more than a 98% chance to win, according to ESPN’s analytics.

However, if there’s one thing we know about March Madness, and especially about St. Peter’s, it’s that anything can happen, and everybody is on upset alert.

Tip off is Thursday night at 8:30pm CT on TNT. GO VOLS!

Titans Making Moves in Free Agency

Although NFL free agency doesn’t technically open until Wednesday afternoon, teams across the league, including the Titans, have been making big moves. On Monday, the Titans started their offseason by agreeing to terms with former Cowboys RB Tony Pollard on a 3-year, $24M deal. They followed that up with a deal with Broncos guard Lloyd Cushenberry, one of the top interior offensive linemen in the league, for 4 years and $50 million. That pickup is a much needed addition, as the Titans’ offensive line has been a constant weak spot over the last few seasons.

Titans GM Ran Carthon closed out Monday with two more pickups, agreeing to terms with Bengals CB Chidobe Awuzie on a 3-year, $36M deal, and Chargers LB Kenneth Murray on a 2-year, $15.5M deal, adding two nice defensive pieces to the two-tone blue.

After a great Monday though, Titans fans received some long-awaited news, as Titans legend Derrick Henry signed with the Baltimore Ravens, a team that has been targeting Henry for some time.

Oct 18, 2020; Nashville, Tennessee, USA; Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry (22) celebrates as he leaves the field after scoring the winning touchdown in overtime against the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The writing was on the wall for Henry’s departure for quite some time, but despite that, the news still hit Titans fans like a ton of bricks.

Henry has been a cornerstone of the Titans franchise, offense, and team identity for 8 years. His departure officially signifies a new dawn of Titans football. One that doesn’t include King Henry.

Derrick Henry should no doubt be on his way to the Hall of Fame already, after nearly a decade as the most dominant running back in the game. All of Tennessee will miss you, King Henry!

Vols and Dores are Off to a HOT Start

College baseball is in full swing again, meaning that many eyes of the sport begin to focus on the state of Tennessee, to see what the Volunteer State is bringing to the plate this year.

Tim Corbin’s Vandy Boys and Tony Vitello’s Vols are both off to hot starts, with the Vols sitting at #8 in the country, and Vandy right behind them at #9.

The two schools won’t match up until the Vols come to Nashville for a weekend series on May 10, however that series could have major implications. That weekend is the second-to-last weekend of the regular season, meaning that that series could be crucial in deciding seeding for the SEC Tournament, and possibly one team’s postseason dreams altogether.

As it stands right now, most experts would pick the Vols and the Dores as locks to make postseason play. However, if there’s one thing we know about college baseball, it’s all about getting hot at the right time, and catching your stride in May. It’s great to be playing great baseball in March and April, but May is when it really matters.

We’re so excited to see Vandy and UT off to great starts, and we’re cheering for both schools all the way through, hoping to see the Volunteer State represented in Omaha this year at the College World Series!

This weekend, the Vols host Bowling Green in Knoxville for a 3-game series, while the Dores compete in the Astos Foundation College Classic, with games against Louisiana, Houston, and Texas this weekend, in Houston.

We all know him as a great friend and excellent service advisor, but what you may not know about Steve is that he recently acquired his Captain’s license and started a fishing charter business on 30A/Santa Rosa Beach!

If you’re down that way, and looking to get on the water, make sure to book an outing with Blue Water Charter! We’ll miss you, Steve, good luck!

Truck Month is Happening RIGHT NOW!

Come on in and see us in Mt. Juliet, to find out what all we can do for you, to get you behind the wheel of your dream Ford truck!

It’s Ford Truck Month, so there’s absolutely no better time than right now to make the switch to a Ford truck!
